Inclinometers / Accelerometers

Working principle:
- Series ES260 servo inclinometers and accelerometers:
A pendulum with a pivot on one side is sensing the tilt (earth gravity attraction force) thence It “ tries “ to revolve.
There is an optical barrier that senses the pendulum movements: a feed-back signal is sent to an electrical torque motor, connected to the pendulum, that practically keeps It still.
Series ES261 has such an extremly good accuracy and repeatability because the only error that can be introduced is the friction of the movement when the pendulum tries to twist. Because the movement is practically null, the friction is low and the error is reduced.
A servoinclinometer is also a sevoaccelerometer for a tilt is an acceleration: i.e. 90°=1g (gravity) = 9,81m/sec2.
The voltage output is proportional to the sinus or cosinus functions of the angle: sinus function is better and It is obtained by means of mechanical clamping (the base of the servoinclinometer has to be parallel to the ground).
DS Europe servo inclinometers have a good sale price.

- Series ES270 MEMS inclinometers and accelerometers:
Series ES270 transducers have a built-in monocrystalline silicium MEMS sensor for measuring inclination (wtih absolute vertical reference) as well as acceleration on X and Y axis.
MEMS sensors can measure both static and dynamic accelerations therefore they can as well as be used to measure inclinations that are typically static accelerations.
MEMS sensor measure acceleration and tilt by means of a differential capacitor whose parts move when a difference of acceleration and tilt is applied.
MEMS sensors are extremely rugged and can withstand hi shocks and vibrations with also the advantage of being miniaturized and with a good price to performance ratio.
Series ES270 transducers have analog and digital outputs that can transmit the following measures: XY axis tilt, XY axis acceleration, Z rotation, temperature.
